Lost Naturalists of the Pacific (1995 - 2002) was a hybrid digital-sculpture body of work centred around a fictional digital book written in 1912 by a French colonial administrator. It documents the lives and lives' work of fifteen Nineteenth and early Twentieth Century naturalists. The gallery installations feature physical artifacts associated with the book.
Lost Naturalists of the Pacific was first exhibited at SOIL Gallery in Seattle, Washington in 1997. The definitive version was first exhibited at Kirkland Arts Center in Kirkland, Washington in September 1999. It included the contents of this digital media product in CD-ROM format. Other versions have been presented at Commencement Gallery in Tacoma, Washington, in 2000, Bellevue Art Museum in 2002, and University of Wisconsin Oshkosh Priebe Gallery in 2005.
